There is more to Manish Malhotra than meets the eye. When there were no fashion bloggers and Bollywood movies were our main information source, it was him who gave us our fashion goals.
Among India’s most renowned designers is Manish Malhotra. He was raised in a modest Punjabi household and enjoyed watching movies as a child. In the 1990s, Manish Malhotra entered the field of design at a time when it wasn’t viewed as a “white collar job.” Manish later said that he fell in love with the fashion industry because of his mother’s influence. He would frequently give his mother fashion advice for her sarees.
When Manish Malhotra was a college student, he made his debut in the fashion industry. He began by working as a model for a boutique, earning 500 rupees a month. Who would have imagined that the same young Punjabi boy would go on to become the world’s most adored fashion designer, with his garments selling for lakhs of dollars? In addition to dressing innumerable brides, Manish Malhotra’s recognizable Bollywood film looks continue to be adored by many. In the days before the internet and fashion influencers, when Bollywood movies were the best source of style updates, he provided us with inspiration for our wardrobe.

Manish Malhotra started his journey into the fashion world as a model and costume designer, and now he is one of the top Indian designers. He had completed a glorious 33 years in the industry and still gets nervous before his every fashion show.
