Simple herbal drinks may flavor simple water, whether it’s hot or cold.
An essential component of leading a healthy lifestyle is staying hydrated. When coupled with herbs you might already have at home or in your garden, water can be used as a natural treatment in addition to hydrating your body.
Experts in ayurveda advise using water-based remedies for various common ailments. Dr. Ahana Nambiar, an ayurvedic specialist from Kerala, explains that to prepare an infusion, the herb is submerged in water, usually left overnight, filtered, and then used. She continues, “The herb is boiled in water until the water is reduced to half” for herbal teas and decoctions.
These herbal elixirs may boost immunity and provide relief from a number of everyday ailments, including headaches, intestinal discomfort, colds, coughs, throat irritation, pains, and joint pain. Their effects depend on the characteristics of the botanicals that were infused.
