American Express Hiring 2023 : An experienced senior Analyst-Risk Management is needed for American Express’s Gurgaon location. Under the direction of the Manager/Senior Manager, Funding and Liquidity Risk Oversight, this position will be in charge of creating and tracking risk metrics, carrying out thorough evaluations of funding and liquidity risk procedures, guaranteeing adherence to internal and regulatory guidelines, overseeing first line partner relationships, supporting regulatory proceedings, and improving the company’s funding and liquidity risk program as American Express’s balance sheet expands.
American Express Hiring 2023 : Within the Global Risk & Compliance organization, the Market Risk Oversight Group is the independent risk management team covering all financial risks undertaken by the Treasury function at American Express. The team’s core responsibility is to design and execute risk measurement and controls across balance sheet management areas, including funding and liquidity risk, market risk, and capital management. The role will assume the responsibility of overseeing key areas in funding and liquidity risk management, leveraging analytical frameworks for independent risk assessment and providing effective challenge to funding and liquidity risk management processes.

This role will report to the Manager/Senior Manager, Funding and Liquidity Risk Oversight, and will be responsible for developing and monitoring risk metrics, conducting in-depth reviews of funding and liquidity risk processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies, managing relationships with first line partners, assisting in regulatory interactions, and enhancing the firm’s funding and liquidity risk program as American Express’s balance sheet grows.
Primary responsibilities
- Perform review and challenge of funding and liquidity related processes, including but not limited to methodologies and assumptions
- Develop data-driven insights to support financial and risk management decisions
- Identify new and emerging liquidity risks and develop measurement and mitigation strategies
- Partner with the first and third lines of defense to drive continuous enhancements in funding and liquidity processes
- Assist in preparing briefings for risk management committees and senior leadership forums
- Contribute to regulatory engagements and examinations
Minimum qualifications
- Experience in treasury or risk management highly preferred
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, is required; graduate degree is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communications required
- Ability to effectively deliver complex messages to senior leaders and stakeholders across three lines of defense
- Ability to think critically and independently, devote significant attention to details, remain highly organized
- Proactive in identifying issues, delivering and escalating key findings, and advising on recommended solutions to mitigate risks
- Self-motivated, results-oriented with a dedication to meeting deadlines for key milestones
- Advanced proficiency in Excel required, proficiency in PowerPoint, SQL and Python preferred
- CFA or FRM exam pass is a plus
