On February 14, 2024, Saira Banu shared a sentimental post on her Instagram account about her beloved husband Dilip Kumar, recalling the sweet things he would do for her on Valentine’s Day each year. The seasoned actress said she feels lucky to have received handwritten notes and cards from her sweetheart in a generation where texting is the new norm. Saira continued, writing that she thinks Dilip Kumar will be by her side forever.

Saira wrote, “Valentine’s Day holds utmost importance for both Dilip Sahib and me. Sahib would often gift me hand-scribbled greeting cards and short notes. In today’s world, where expressions of love often come disguised as cell phone messages and lengthy texts, I feel extremely fortunate to have experienced a love that found its most genuine expression. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that no matter what, Dilip Sahib and I will continue to walk hand in hand by the grace of God, united in our thoughts and being until the end of time. He is always with me at every step of my life.”

Saira Banu continued in her note by taking a trip down memory lane once more and recalling a charming instance of unadulterated love that transpired between her and Dilip Kumar. The actress spoke of her unwavering love for her spouse and disclosed how, when Dilip Kumar whistled like a child, she gave him a peck on the cheek. Saira revealed that she now wished she had captured her husband’s whistle so she could feel his presence even now, “Reflecting on the love we shared, I think about the time and place where I recall how I couldn’t resist the opportunity to plant a peck on his cheek. There was one particular moment when Dilip Sahib whistled, and immediately after, I placed my lips on his right cheek. In that moment, I truly wished I could have captured the sound of his whistle to replay it whenever possible, to feel his closeness.”

According to reports, the former had previously become pregnant, but she miscarried and was never able to conceive again. Saira Banu was questioned about her feelings of regret for not becoming a parent with Dilip Kumar during one of her previous interviews with the Hindustan Times. She gave this a lovely response, “Our marriage is the most important thing in my life. I don’t miss having a child because Saab is like a child at heart.”
