Smriti Mandhana’s familial and educational background
Smriti Mandhana, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, was born on July 18, 1996, in Chennai to Shrinivas and Smita Mandhana. The cricketer is from a Marwari family, although she speaks Marathi fluently because she grew up in Mumbai. Smriti was just two years old when her family moved from Chennai to Mumbai.
Smriti Mandhana, an ace cricketer, graduated from the Shardarshan Vidyamandir School in Mumbai. She then attended GS Medical College and earned a B.Com degree. Smriti’s father, Shrinivas, and brother, Shravan Mandhana, have both played district cricket. Because her father was a district level player and her brother followed in his footsteps, Smriti began playing cricket at a young age.
Smriti Mandhana realized her father’s ambition after joining India’s women’s national cricket squad
During her visit on the game reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Smriti Mandhana discussed how she got into cricket. Smriti explained that her father, Shrinivas, played at the district level and wished to see one of his children play cricket for India, which served as the foundation for her desire. She opened openly about it, saying,
“From their childhood, my father and brothers were cricketers. My father didn’t get permission to pursue cricket as a profession. So, he wanted both of their kids to play cricket and hoped for one of them to represent India. So, I have listened about cricket from my childhood, maybe since when I was in my mother’s womb.”
Smriti Mandhana also admitted on Kaun Banega Crorepati that she was initially a right-hander. She went on to say that after practicing with her brother, Shravan Manndhana, a left-hander, she became a left-handed batter as well. She opened up about her cricket adventure, saying,
“I also used to go for practice, pick up balls for my brother. I learnt to bat by standing behind him in the nets. I am right-handed, but because my brother is left-handed, I learnt to bat left-handed from him. I used to stand behind him and watch him bat. So, that’s how I started my cricket journey.”
Smriti Mandhana and Virat Kohli wear the same ‘No. 18’ shirt
While Virat Kohli is widely regarded as India’s best player in men’s cricket, Smriti Mandhana is on par with him in women’s cricket. Virat and Smriti are regarded as Indian cricket’s ‘King’ and ‘Queen’, owing to their individual contributions in terms of runs and captaincy. However, not everyone is aware that Virat and Smriti are pals, with the latter referring to him as ‘Bhaiya’.

Smriti Mandhana is supposedly dating the famed singer’s brother, Palaash Muchhal
Soon after winning the 2024 Women’s Premier League, Smriti Mandhana’s photo with her supposed boyfriend, Palaash Muchhal, surfaced on the internet. Once again, stories of them dating one other circulated in the media corridors. Smriti and Palash have been each other’s biggest supporters for some time now. Time and again, we have seen indications of the same in the form of cuddly images on their various social media handles.
For those unfamiliar, Palaash Muchhal is the brother of famed vocalist Palak Muchhal, who is regarded as one of the most successful singers of this era. Palaash is a music composer and philanthropist. Palaash began working in the Hindi film industry as a music composer at the age of 18, making him the youngest composer in Bollywood. We want to see more of Palaash and Smriti together if there is truly something between them, as the latter’s large fanbase never misses an opportunity to fuel their romance rumors.
Well, we are incredibly pleased of Smriti Mandhana and hope she continues to win titles and break records in her cricket career.
