Today, the five-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will meet the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Batting first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler got off to a solid start, but Simarjeet Singh dismissed both of them immediately after the powerplay, as RR’s innings battled for momentum. Singh took three wickets, while Tushar Deshpande added two more in the conclusion. Riyan Parag, who was dropped at 15, went unbeaten on 47 to lead RR to 141/5 on a tough track.
Everyone eyes will be on Shivam Dube, who has been CSK’s batting backbone this season but has been quiet since being named to the Indian T20 World Cup squad. Having scored a 13-ball 21 against GT, he has two reasons to fire: to justify his selection for the World Cup and to propel his side closer to the playoffs.
