Sonakshi Sinha, a popular Bollywood actress, is slated to marry her longtime partner and actor Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, 2024. According to multiple media sources, the couple, who have apparently been dating since 2020, will marry in front of their family and friends at a prominent SoBo venue. Ahead of their wedding, allegations arose in the media stating that the bride-to-be is at odds with her family members, particularly her father, Shatrughan Sinha.

Sonakshi Sinha’s most recent meeting with her father, Shatrughan Sinha, appears to have put an end to such unfounded rumors. Several paparazzi cameras show the bride-to-be entering a building while clad entirely in white. After a while, her husband-to-be, Zaheer, followed her. In the same footage, veteran actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha can be seen standing with a few other people who are shaking hands with him.

Bharathi S Pradhan, a film critic and author, uploaded the photo on the social media platform X (previously Twitter) on June 20, 2024. Bharathi captioned her post as follows:

Following Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding reports in the media, rumors circulated that her father will not attend her wedding. However, in a recent interview with Zoom, Shatrughan Sinha clarified the suspicions. He expressed his pride in his daughter and promised to attend the wedding to bless the pair. In his own words,
“Tell me, whose life is it anyway? It’s just the life of my only daughter, Sonakshi, whom I am very proud of and immensely fond of. She calls me the pillar of her strength. I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn’t I and why won’t I? The very fact that I have still been in Mumbai conveys that I am here not only as her pillar of strength but as her real kavach (armour) as well. Sonakshi and Zaheer have to live life together. They look very nice together. I would like to caution them with my signature dialogue: Khamosh, it’s none of your business. Mind only your business.”

Shatrughan Sinha claimed he was waiting for his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, to finalize her wedding
The father of the prospective bride stated in a previous interview that he was also awaiting confirmation of Sonakshi’s marriage, which is why these unfounded rumors had taken off like wildfire. Shatrughan Sinha, the father of the actress, revealed in an interview with Times Now that he and his wife had been waiting for their daughter to tell them she was getting married. He went on to say that he was aware of her wedding to the same extent as the media. Speaking further about it, Shatrughan Sinha stated,
“Main bhi utna hi jaanta ho jitna main media maine padha hai. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. I would like to say that whenever my daughter gets married, I would like to be dancing right in front of the baaraat. I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this, and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain. We are waiting to be informed.”
