According to reports, Amazon has announced steps to boost India’s digital economy and exports, including a cross-border logistics relationship with India Post. According to an ET Government article, the initiative provides e-commerce export options to a large number of small businesses while also cooperating with Indian Railways for speedier delivery.
According to reports, Amazon plans to launch AI-powered seller help and offer logistical capabilities to D2C firms. These initiatives are supported by the company’s $15 billion investment in India by 2030. The relationship was commemorated with a commemorative postal stamp that focuses on digitalizing millions of small companies for economic growth and global access.

According to the research, this effort intends to expand e-commerce export opportunities for countless micro, small, and medium-sized firms (MSMEs) around the country. Furthermore, Amazon is aggressively cooperating with the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFC), a division of Indian Railways, to promote faster delivery to clients across the nation for its vendors.
In addition, the company announced plans to develop a personalized digital assistant for merchants using generative AI technology. Furthermore, the firm expanded its logistics and supply chain capabilities to direct-to-consumer (D2C) companies across the country. “We recently announced an incremental investment of $15 billion in India across all of our businesses by 2030 and will continue to be a partner in India’s growth in the twenty-first century,” said Amit Agarwal, Amazon’s SVP India and Emerging Markets, during the company’s event.
Amazon and India Post unveiled a commemorative postage stamp honoring the two companies’ partnership in catering to consumers across all operable pin codes, totaling 100 percent coverage.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, expressed his delight at Amazon’s commitment to digitalizing 10 million MSMEs, generating two million job opportunities, and encouraging $20 billion in ecommerce exports from India by 2025.
Singh went on to say that adopting digitization may give economic growth, broader consumer outreach, lower marketing and distribution expenses, and access into foreign markets for many small enterprises across India. These statements were made during a meeting between Amazon CEO Andy Jassy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter’s official visit to the United States in June.
Amazon India’s Country Manager for the Consumer Business, Manish Tiwary, stressed the company’s commitment to long-term investments in both physical and digital infrastructure. “We are dedicated to developing advanced technological solutions that cater to customers’ needs and facilitate the growth and expansion of Indian businesses within India and on the global stage, thus supporting India’s burgeoning digital economy,” Tiwary stated.
