Oravel Stays was inexplicably chosen by Venture Nursery in 2012 for an accelerator program, paving the way for Agarwal’s future endeavors. He received a grant of $100,000 as a result of his outstanding performance in the 2013 Thiel Fellowship competition, giving him the resources he needs to explore a wider field. OYO Rooms was launched by Agarwal in May 2013.
One billion dollars were raised for Agarwal’s startup. However, the businessman gained attention once more in July 2019, when he personally invested $2 billion to purchase shares of his own company. By the year 2020, Agarwal had amassed a net worth of almost $1.1 billion (Rs 7253 crore), placing him on the coveted Hurun Rich List.
