Several religious personalities, dignitaries, and Bollywood celebrities attended Ram Lalla’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony. However, Alia’s appearance stood out. The actress paid tribute to Hindu culture and Lord Ram by wearing a Mysore silk saree with handpainted images of Ramayan events.
Alia Bhatt’s saree took 100 work hours and featured important events from the Ramayana
On January 23, 2024, Alia Bhatt’s stylist, Ami Patel, shared a few photos of her from the Ram Mandir inauguration. She also revealed information about her unique saree, which she chose for the occasion. Ami revealed that the saree was made of Mysore silk and featured intricately handpainted scenes from the Ramayana on the pallu.
The saree depicted scenes from Shiva Dhanush, King Dasharatha’s promise on the boat with Guha, the golden deer, Sita’s kidnapping, the Ram Setu, Lord Hanuman presenting the ring to Ma Sita, and Ram Pattabhishek. The paintings were done in the traditional ‘Pattachitra’ style, and it took 100 hours to finish the saree in time for the ceremony.
