BMW India announced the debut of the new BMW X4 M40i in India on Thursday, priced at 96.2 lakh (ex-showroom).

According to PTI, the BMW X4 M40i would be available in India as a Completely Built Up unit (CBU).”In India, the BMW X4 popularized the distinct Sports Activity Coupe concept.” It quickly became the vehicle of choice for clients that have a distinct flair that sets them apart from the throng. New BMW X4 M40i 2023 Performance
The BMW X4 M40i is a bold disruptor, engineered to exceed and built to last. “With its performance-oriented style, distinctive aesthetics, and increased power, you will be sure to stand out from the crowd,” said Vikram Pawah, president of BMW Group India, according to PTI. The luxury SUV is driven by a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 265 kW/360hp and 500 Nm of torque between 1,900 and 5,000 rpm.
BMW claims the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h. The 48-volt mild hybrid system offers improved driving performance while consuming less gasoline and providing more comfort. The engine is equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic Automatic transmission that provides smooth, nearly unnoticeable gear transitions.
The luxury SUV comes standard with BMW xDrive, an intelligent all-wheel drive system that analyzes the driving conditions and reacts quickly to ensure optimal traction, agility, and vehicle stability. The car also features a M Sport differential, which BMW claims improves traction and performance by electronically regulating power delivery to each wheel.

The new X4 M401 has a coupe-SUV design. The M kidney grille with chrome frame, double kidney bars in high-gloss black, and M emblem at the front highlight the vehicle’s athleticism. Its thin Adaptive LED Headlamps help to focus the face. The X4 M40i’s rear has free-form black chrome tailpipe trims with two “teeth” that emphasize the modernity of this advanced Sports Activity Coupe. The SUV comes standard with 20-inch Jet Black M light alloy wheels double-spoke 699M and mixed tyres 245/45 R20 up front and 275/40 R20 up back. Red-high gloss brake calipers are offered for M Sport brakes.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional is a modern cockpit concept with 3D Navigation, a 12.3-inch digital information display behind the steering wheel, a 12.3-inch Control Display, and BMW Head-up Display. The occupants can control a variety of vehicle features by chatting to their BMW Virtual Assistant. The interior features a three-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, a three-zone climate control system, reclining rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, and much more.

BMW X4 M40i Engine
A 3.0 liter turbo petrol engine with 360 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque is used under the hood to power the vehicle. This engine is linked to a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This four wheel drive system comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds.
BMW X4 M40i Rivals
The X4 M40i has no direct rivals in the Indian market. But if your budget is less than Rs 1,00,000 then you can go for electric options like Volvo XC40 Recharge and Kia EV6 crossover.
