Cameron Walsh: Grimsby Town, an English football team, lost a potential young player when his car drove into a canal. The club has described his death as a “heartbreaking loss.” The youngster was 16 years old.
In a statement posted on its website, the team stated that Cameron Walsh was a crucial component of the GTFC academy. He was adored by players, coaches, and the whole Grimsby Town family because of his unwavering talent and enthusiasm for the game. “They are in our prayers and thoughts as they work through the sorrow and anguish that accompany such a tragedy.”
The 16-year-old’s father, Dave Walsh, and Cameron were identified by local and national media, however Lincolnshire Police informed CNN that they do not disclose the identities of those involved in fatal crashes. Both Cameron and Dave played for the amateur football team Cleethorpes Town, which honored the father and son.
Dave was a former player and junior manager who managed his son’s club for “many, many happy times,” according to Cleethorpes, who called him a “wonderful person.” Cameron represented Cleethorpes Town as their mascot in the 2017 FA Vase final at Wembley Stadium versus South Shields. According to the team, Cameron will always be “a huge part of our history.”
In a statement, the police said that two persons were declared dead at the scene of the collision on Saturday near Tetney Lock in Lincolnshire, east England, after their car veered off the road and into the river. According to a police statement, “We are now appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward.” “As the investigation continues, we are keeping an open mind even though it is not believed that any other vehicles were involved at this time.”
