When news of Matthew Perry’s death broke, many people were shocked. He was best known as ‘Chandler Bing’ on the classic American sitcom Friends. On October 28, 2023, the actor was discovered dead in his home’s jacuzzi at the age of 54. And now, only days after the tragedy, one of his co-stars has written a touching homage to him.

Matthew Perry receives an emotional tribute from Matt LeBlanc
On November 14, 2023, Matt LeBlanc, a.k.a. ‘Joey Tribbiani’ from the 1990s sitcom Friends, posted some beautiful throwback photos with Matthew Perry from the set of their show. The photos quickly sent everyone on a nostalgic journey of recollections, when the couple shared some hilarious banter. Along with the photos, Matt included a note that, “Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”
When Matthew Perry’s family issued a formal statement regarding his death
Matthew Perry’s entire global following has been bitterly mourning the loss of the outstanding actor since his untimely death. Surprisingly, it was his surviving family that remained silent for so long. However, on October 30, 2023, his family issued a formal but brief statement about the actor’s death. The statement can be paraphrased as follows: “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him, and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”

Matthew Perry’s final social media post was from the jacuzzi in which he died
In fact, only hours before his death, Matthew Perry posted a last photo of himself on social media, enjoying a warm bath in the jacuzzi while seeing a magnificent vista. However, it is terrible to note that he was later discovered dead inside the same jacuzzi. Along with his last photograph, Matthew had written a note that read, “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.”
After Matthew Perry passed away unexpectedly, when the cast of Friends published a unified statement
Following the untimely death of their dear friend Matthew Perry, the entire cast of Friends made a unified statement on October 31, 2023. They expressed in their statement how devastated they were and that they needed time to deal with the loss and grieve. One way to interpret the statement is, We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now, we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family and everyone who loved him around the world.
