Marco Troper’s grandmother claims that the 19-year-old may have overdosed on drugs and died.
On February 13, Marco Troper, the 19-year-old son of YouTube’s former CEO Susan Wojcicki, was allegedly discovered dead in his University of California, Berkeley dorm. On February 14, his grandma Esther Wojcicki posted on Facebook to confirm his identify and death.
Although a toxicology report’s findings are not yet available, Marco’s grandmother told SFGATE News that her grandson is thought to have overdosed on drugs and died. “We are unsure of the substance that he consumed. We do know for sure that it involved drugs. We wish to stop this from occurring to any other family,” Esther stated to the news organisation.

“My beloved grandson Marco Troper, age 19, passed away yesterday,” she wrote on Facebook. Our family is incomprehensibly crushed.” She also remembered her grandson as the most beautiful, intelligent, loving, and caring person she had ever met.
Marco was residing on the Clark Kerr site, a UC Berkeley housing site, according to the news source. He was discovered not responding on February 13 at approximately 4:23 PM (local time), according to information released by Janet Gilmore, a spokesman for UC Berkeley.
According to Gilmore, the Berkeley Fire Department had alerted the University of California Police Department that it was “attempting life-saving measures” on Marco in his dorm.However, by the time the UC campus police arrived at his hostel, he had been declared deceased. Gilmore added that the teenager’s death was being investigated and that there were no indications of foul play. Marco was “just getting started” in his second semester at UC Berkeley, where he was majoring in mathematics, according to Esther. Additionally, she mentioned that his Zeta Psi fraternity was “thriving academically” and that his Stern Hall dorm had a great pals network. The family won’t know the circumstances behind their son’s death until they receive a thorough toxicology study, which should arrive in about 30 days.
