Shark Tank India judge Namita Thapar recently reveal about her issues with infertility, she has been unable to open up about it for the previous twelve years.
Namita Thapar is the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. And currently judge the business reality show Shark Tank India. She has appeared as an investor on the show for all of its seasons. She is also well-known for her advocacy on several issues affecting women in society. She has never refrained from sharing her feelings. Something similar occurred when she spoke out against the taboos associated with female infertility.
Namita Thapar shares about her fertility issues
Namita Thapar took to Instagram and released a video in which she honestly discussed her experiences with IVF and infertility. At the start of the movie, a tape was grabbed from the set of the show Shark Tank India, in which she was heard discussing her difficulties. Namita mentioned that she has undergone IVF treatment twice in her life and discussed the suffering that a woman goes through throughout that process. The entrepreneur went on to explain how she kept quiet about the situation for twelve years before finally getting the confidence to speak up about it. She was saying,
“Do infertility treatments I have gone through aur wo jo 25 injections hotey hai har treatment mein, wo jo physical emotional trauma hota hai, you will litrellay those taboos of crossing your legs, paer upar rakho matlb sab stupid cheejein aap karte hai. Iske baarein main 12 saal tak bol nhi payi. Kyun? Isme kya sharm ki baat hai? This is something which we should all talk about. Infertility is on the rise. Bahut mahilaye maa asani se nhi bann paa rhi hai, we need to get educated about this. Let’s not judge. Let’s not shame. Let’s support. Let’s break the taboos. Let’s help more women become mothers.”

Namita stated that she became a mother by natural conception at the age of 28. Namita Thapar, the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, stated that she experienced fertility issues after three to four years of trying for a second child. She chose to go through IVF twice, undergoing 25 shots that caused her ‘mental and bodily pain’.
Namita Thapar stated, “When I was 28 years old, I wanted to get pregnant, and in two months, I conceived and had a normal pregnancy.” After that, I tried for three to four years and was unable to conceive. I underwent two infertility treatments, as well as 25 injections, and I experienced mental and physical suffering. Even the taboo stuff like keeping your legs up and crossing your legs, and I already have children, but image the parents who don’t.
