N.R. Narayana Murthy, an Indian multibillionaire and the founder of Infosys, has made waves with his newest gift. Murthy has given his four-month-old grandson, Ekagrah Rohan Murthy, shares worth more than Rs. 240 crore. The businessman’s action likely created Ekagrah India’s youngest millionaire. For those who don’t know, Narayan Murthy founded Infosys with USD 250 in 1981 and built it into one of India’s most respected corporations through hard work and dedication.

According to sources, Ekagrah has acquired a total of 15 lakh shares, or 0.04% stake in India’s second-largest IT company. This acquisition reduced Murthy’s stake in Infosys from 0.40 percent to 0.36 percent, a loss of 1.51 crore shares. The investigation also stated that the transaction was off-market.

Rohan Murthy did not join his father’s business, Infosys
Rohan Murthy is one of the world’s few millionaire children who have chosen to establish their own enterprise from the ground up. It’s astonishing that Rohan gave down the opportunity to be the Vice President of Infosys, a Rs. 600,000 crore corporation, in order to launch his own startup. According to Business Today, Rohan received Rs. 106.42 crores in dividend income from his Infosys shares totaling 6,08,12,892.
Rohan Murthy and Aparna Murthy’s kid, Ekagrah
Sudha Murthy and Narayan Murthy’s son, Rohan Murthy, earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University. He was previously married to Lakshmi Venu from the TVS group, however the couple split up in 2015. Later, in 2019, Rohan married Aparna after three years of courtship. Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan welcomed a baby son, Ekagrah, in November 2023. Murthy’s grandson’s name means “unwavering focus and determination” in Sanskrit.

Narayana Murthy married Sudha Murthy on February 10, 1978, and they had two children, Akshata Murthy in 1980 and Rohan Murthy in 1983. Akshata is married to Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The couple has two daughters: Anoushka and Krishna. The lovely family of four lives in the United Kingdom but travels to India on a regular basis for personal and business reasons.
