Suga, a K-pop sensation and ardent basketball enthusiast, collaborates with the NBA to create a line of legally licenced merchandise featuring the Nets, Clippers, Bulls, Warriors, Lakers, and Knicks.
SUGA AND NBA
Sports enthusiasts and the BTS Army are one! Suga, a member of the K-pop duo Suga, recently unveiled a capsule collection that combines the two worlds as part of a collaboration with the NBA and sporting goods merchant Mitchell & Ness, which is authorised to sell merchandise for the NBA, NFL, NHL, and collegiate clubs. The capsule collection features hoodies, coats, tees, and other clothing.
Suga has been spotted courtside shaking hands with players including Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Luka Doncic since the group’s break in 2022. In recent months, he has also worked with the NBA on various projects, and he has been seen wearing customised jerseys for the LA Lakers and New York Knicks.
The Nets, Clippers, Bulls, Warriors, Lakers, and Knicks logos are updated on the capsule, which has an entirely black base fabric. Each logo is modified with a glitch effect, double-layered in a duotone palette, and pixilated throughout. They are based on the artwork from his most recent studio album, D-Day. Prices for clothing range from $34 for caps to $190 for bomber coats.
When Suga tweeted a sneak peek of the merchandise and a sign-up link for the pre-sale to his Instagram account back in August, the collection was first previewed. The much-anticipated #SUGAxNBA capsule collection by @mitchell_ness, created in partnership with NBA ambassador SUGA of @bts_twt, is out right now, the NBA announced earlier this week.
The merchandise is anticipated to sell out soon like the majority of BTS goods. Although it appears that the retailer is constantly discontinuing products, the supply will eventually run out. To purchase the official release, visit Mitchell & Ness. In the coming weeks, make sure to check back for restocks.
