Dhoni will continue in the IPL?
For the Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), Dhoni is expected to return. To keep supporters guessing about Dhoni’s future in the forthcoming seasons, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan stated that Dhoni himself could only respond to the question of whether this would be his final edition.
Dhoni is presently recuperating from knee surgery that he had done in early June. It is expected that the player will return to match fitness well in advance of IPL 2024. As stated by Viswanathan, “He’s progressing well, engaged in gym workouts, and is likely to resume net practice in the next 10 days.”
The video’s release coincided with news of Dhoni’s expected return to cricket for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), which increased fan interest. In their quest to retain their championship and win a record-tying sixth IPL trophy, he is anticipated to guide the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
After CSK’s 2023 victory, there were rumours that Dhoni was going to retire. However, Dhoni vowed to come back, encouraged by the tremendous national support. To ensure their title defence, CSK made calculated moves on December 19 at the IPL Players Auction in Dubai. The team, captained by MS Dhoni, brought in six players, the most expensive being Daryl Mitchell, an all-rounder from New Zealand, who cost Rs 14 crore. The acquisition of Indian batter Sameer Rizvi, who is uncapped, for Rs 8.4 crore was unexpected. After being released by KKR, India all-rounder Shardul Thakur was also kept by CSK.
