Ritesh Agarwal, a business entrepreneur, is currently enjoying the best phase of his life: fatherhood. In December 2023, he became a parent for the first time in his life. He shared his ‘good news’ with his wife, Geetansha, through a lovely post on his social media account. For those who are unaware, 2023 was Ritesh’s best year yet, as he also became the youngest ‘Shark’ on the business reality show Shark Tank India 3. Now, he’s opened up about the new chapter in his life and how he’s embracing his fatherhood.
Ritesh Agarwal opens up about accepting fatherhood roles in his life
Ritesh Agarwal spoke to ETimes TV about embracing fatherhood. He mentioned that he is still in the early stages of parenthood and discussed the difficulties of diaper duties and sleepless nights. However, he described it as a fantastic feeling and discussed his other accomplishments in 2023. He explained, “It’s still early days. I am trying to be better in my diaper duties and ofcourse the sleep is quite volatile as you can imagine. But it is so special. Just seeing your child change everyday because he becomes slightly different every week. So I think it’s a fantastic thing. So this is very new and this year is a year with all new roles. There’s fatherhood and then there is Shark Tank India season 3. So I have to try and do well in quite a few things. I am looking forward to it.”

Ritesh Agarwal announced the arrival of his baby boy
Ritesh took to Instagram on December 7, 2023, and shared the first photo of his newborn baby. The newborn baby was seen in the photograph holding his father’s finger with his tiny fingers. The little boy was dressed in a white onesie. Along with it, Ritesh wrote a lovely note revealing that he kept his son’s name as ‘Aryan’. He went on to say that his sleepless nights working for OYO Rooms had prepared him for fatherhood. The caption can be read as, “The miracle of life is breathtaking, and our hearts are forever changed. Meet our precious little one – Aryan. The sleepless nights spent building OYO were just a warm-up for the sleepless nights of parenthood, and yet, I’ve never been happier than I am at this very moment! Here’s to us, my incredible wife Geet, the bundle of joy Aryan and to the new chapter we’re writing together – filled with love, laughter, and the indescribable happiness that only a little one can bring.”
Ritesh shared his wife, Geetansha’s pregnancy announcement
Ritesh wowed his fans in October 2023 when he announced his wife Geetansha’s pregnancy. He shared a photo of his pregnant wife, who was seen flaunting her baby bump in a pretty blue-colored dress. In addition, the adoring husband was spotted cradling his wife’s baby bump. Along with it, Ritesh wrote a lovely note revealing that he met his wife, Geet, as a teenager eleven years ago. He went on to say that he struggled to persuade his family of his dream, but his wife, Geet, remained his staunch supporter. Ritesh shared, “I met Geet eleven years ago, when I was just a teenager chasing dreams, trying to convince my family that I wanted to build my company from scratch. There was only one constant who was by my side through it all, and it was her. The highs of happiness and milestones, the lows of pain and loss, we’ve been through so much together.”

Ritesh Agarwal was born into a Marwari family in Bissam Cuttack, Odisha, who used to run a small shop. He is now one of the world’s youngest billionaires. Ritesh began selling SIM cards at the age of 13 while still in school at Sacred Heart. Following that, he moved to Delhi for college in 2011 and founded Oravel Stays, a low-cost accommodation portal that was acquired by Venture Nursery in September 2012.
However, he dropped out of college and was chosen for the Thiel Fellowship in 2013. In May 2013, he founded OYO Rooms after receiving a USD 100,000 grant. Fast forward to today, and the hospitality industry is one of the largest in the country. According to Hurun Rich List 2020, Ritesh’s net worth is around USD 1.1 billion, which translates to Rs. 7253 crores in Indian currency.
