Varinder Chawla, a popular photographer, recently spoke about South stars and their ‘false’ humility. He used the example of Vijay Deverakonda, Jr NTR, and Mahesh Babu.
After Bollywood came under fire from internet users for reasons such as nepotism, hurting religious emotions, bad writing, and so on, the regional film industry, particularly in South India, flourished. People began to praise the South celebrities for their nature and diverse performances. However, a popular paparazzi has explained that the South stars are not as down-to-earth as their social media persona suggests.
Paparazzo claims that South stars act humble in front of the camera
Varinder Chawla, a seasoned paparazzi, sat down with Hindi Rush and discussed extensively about the paparazzi culture in the film sector. He discussed how he got into the trade and shared several previously unknown facts about the job. While talking, one of the hosts wondered if South Indian celebs are truly humble and, as a photographer, what he thinks of their personalities. Varinder answered the question by saying, “To be honest, I think woh log naklipan karte hai. They act like that only for the camera.”

Paparazzo gives examples of Vijay Deverakonda, Jr. NTR, and Mahesh Babu to illustrate that they aren’t as humble as their personas have suggested
The paparazzo revealed that the South stars’ humility is only an act. Varinder used Vijay Deverakonda as an example, recalling when he was promoting his film, Liger, co-starring Ananya Panday, while wearing chappals. He claimed that the actor pretended to be humble in front of the cameras. Furthermore, the photographer provided a recent case in which a South Indian superstar snapped at his crew. Varinder stated that they did not upload the video, although other publications did. He didn’t name the actor, but it was Jr NTR. Varinder described the incident as follows, “There was an actor who would appear in slippers during the promotions of the film to deliberately pretend to be humble in front of the camera. Recently, my team shot a video of a big South star, who is normally very quiet. He was going inside the hotel when he snapped at my team member. I didn’t put it, but the other photographer who had also shot it uploaded it.”

Varinder recalled another occurrence involving South Indian stars, an event from the film Major, at which the famed actor Mahesh Babu was present. The paparazzi said that the star openly stated that Bollywood couldn’t afford him. He responded to Mahesh Babu’s statement, saying that Bollywood stars do not fake humility in front of the camera. In his own words, “He was openly saying we don’t need Bollywood; they can’t afford me. I thought what is this attitude? I do feel woh naklipan zyada hai. They compare Bollywood… but here at least the actors aren’t fake. They are seen how they are, if they are getting angry, that’s public as well.”
