Priscilla Presley, a.k.a. the late Elvis Presley’s ex-wife, disclosed why she never remarried after her divorce from the former.
Elvis Presley was one of America’s most recognizable pop singers. He was even the first talented artist to originate the genre of rock and roll music, establishing him as one of music’s iconic singers. Elvis Presley also appeared in various music video prototypes, where his distinctive dance skills and captivating personality quickly grooved millions of the audience. In his personal life, the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ married Priscilla Presley, an American businesswoman and actress, in 1967. Lisa Marie Presley, the couple’s daughter, was born. Unfortunately, Priscilla and Elvis divorced in 1973.

For the uninitiated, during their divorce in 1973, Priscilla made a promise to her ex-husband, Elvis Presley, that she would not remarry anyone else as long as he was alive. While such a guarantee is unheard of and shocking, Priscilla recently said the same in a recent revelation. Keeping her ex-husband’s pledge, Priscilla revealed the reason behind this and stated, To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him. I never had any desire, no one could ever match him.
Priscilla explains why she and Elvis didn’t want to have another child after Lisa
Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis and Priscilla’s only daughter, grew up to become a successful American singer and songwriter, and was even married to the ‘king of pop’, Michael Jackson, from 1994 to 1996. Lisa unfortunately died on January 12, 2023. In addition to her daughter, Priscilla revealed why she and her ex-husband, Elvis Presley, never considered having another child. In her own words, Elvis felt he had a very busy schedule, and he did have a bit of guilt that he wasn’t around that much when Lisa was younger. With his scheduling and his touring, he just felt he wasn’t around enough to give a lot of attention to having another child.

When Priscilla discussed the impact of her ex-husband’s untimely death on her life
Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, for those who are unaware. Priscilla had opened up about the impact of her ex-husband’s abrupt death on her life in an interview with Piers Morgan at the time, revealing she was stunned when Elvis’s road manager informed her of the awful news over the phone. The businesswoman remarked how difficult it was for her to envision a person like Elvis Presley, who was still young and full of aspirations, passing away. Furthermore, she stated that she was terrified and thought it would be a difficult chore to convey the bad news to their daughter, Lisa, who was just nine years old at the time.
The love story of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley
It’s certainly intriguing to learn how such a great artist, dubbed the “King of Rock and Roll,” fell in love with a successful businesswoman like Priscilla Presley. The two had met in West Germany in 1959, where the latter’s stepfather was a captain in the United States Air Force. Elvis, who had recently been drafted into the United States Army, was also stationed there at the time. They eventually met at a party, when Elvis fell head over heels in love with Priscilla. This laid the groundwork for a lovely love story. After Elvis was discharged from the army in 1960, he welcomed Priscilla to his gorgeous Memphis home, where the two appeased their parents for marriage. And the rest, as they say, is history!
