After the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya Ram Mandir, all eyes are focused on the construction of Ayodhya Masjid. Here are some important facts about the Mohammed Bin Abdullah Masjid.
On January 22, 2024, the much-anticipated pran pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir was held in Ayodhya. As expected, it was a star-studded event with many A-list celebrities from various industries. On this auspicious occasion, Ayodhya and the entire nation were dressed in saffron. People even celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, when Lord Ram returned to his hometown of Ayodhya after a 500-year absence.
Now that Ram Mandir has been inaugurated, all attention is focused on the construction of the Masjid in Ayodhya. While the pran pratishtha ceremony was a significant and emotional event for all Sanatanis around the world, Ayodhya Masjid is equally important in the Muslim community. Muslim people from all over the world are now waiting for the construction of the Ayodhya Masjid to begin, as the Babri Masjid holds a significant place in their religion following its demolition in 1992.
IICF reveals construction and crowdfunding details for the Ayodhya Masjid
In an interview with Reuters, Haji Arfat Shaikh, head of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation’s (IICF) development committee, revealed some major details about the Ayodhya Masjid’s construction. The committee head revealed that construction will begin in May 2024, following the holy month of Ramadan. According to Haji Arfat, the Ayodhya Mosque will take approximately three to four years to complete.
According to numerous reports, the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF), the trust in charge of overseeing the construction of the Ayodhya Masjid, does not currently have adequate funding. Aside from financial difficulties, the introduction of traditional elements such as minarets has contributed to the delay in the construction of the Ayodhya Masjid. However, things are expected to move quickly in the coming months, with the launch of an online platform for devotees to donate money to the construction of Ayodhya Masjid. Amidst all of the excitement surrounding the Ayodhya Mosque, here are some exciting facts that everyone should be aware of about this site, which will become one of the world’s most famous mosques.
1. Ayodhya Masjid’s name will not be known as Babri Masjid
Haji Arfat Shaikh, the head of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation’s development committee, discussed the name of Ayodhya Masjid. The committee chairman revealed the name of the Ayodhya Masjid, which is ‘Masjid Muhammed bin Abdullah’, after Prophet Muhammad.
2. Ayodhya Masjid will hold the world’s largest Quran bound in saffron color
Ayodhya Masjid will be one of the most famous mosques in the world, as evidenced by the fact that it will house the world’s largest Quran. According to BJP leader Haji Arafat Shaikh, Ayodhya Masjid will have a Quran measuring 21 feet high and 36 feet wide. What’s interesting is that the Quran will be bound in saffron, a colour associated with Khwaja Muinuddin Chishti Ajmer.
3. Ayodhya Masjid will be the first mosque with five pillars
Another interesting fact about the Ayodhya Masjid is that it will be India’s first mosque with five minarets. The mosque will represent Islam’s five central tenets: Kalima, Namaz, Roza, Zakat, and Hajj.
Not only that, but Masjid Muhammed bin Abdullah’s prayer hall will have a capacity of 9,000 people at once, second only to Delhi’s Jama Masjid, which can accommodate 25,000 worshippers.
4. The Ayodhya Masjid will have a larger fish aquarium than the one in Dubai
In an interview with a media outlet, Haji Arfat Shaikh, the head of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation’s (IICF) development committee, revealed that Ayodhya Masjid will feature a large aquarium.
The goal is to provide a fun element for small children inside the premises of Ayodhya Masjid. Haji Shaikh also stated that the fish aquarium will be bigger than the one in Dubai. Although he did not specify the name of the fish aquarium, mentioning Dubai certainly raised everyone’s expectations.
5 The Ayodhya Masjid will cost even more than Aligarh’s Jama Masjid
Not everyone is aware that some key components of Aligarh’s Jama Masjid are made of gold, making it one of Asia’s most expensive mosques. According to multiple reports, the domes and minarets are adorned with gold and are known as ‘gold studded mosques’.
According to many media reports, Aligarh’s Jama Masjid has more gold inlaid on its minarets and domes than any other Masjid in Asia.
However, according to early reports and internet speculation, the Ayodhya Masjid will be the most expensive in India. From its architecture to the stones used in its construction, many Muslim officials have hinted that Ayodhya Masjid could become India’s most expensive mosque.
Only time will tell whether the Masjid, which has long been a symbol of the Muslim community, will outbid all other mosques in India to become the most expensive. Furthermore, once the Ayodhya Masjid is completed, no devotee will be interested in flexing the costs associated with its construction, as they will be relieved and happy to have it after years of struggle.
