Rani Mukerji talks about refusing films to Aditya Chopra
In her latest interview with Film Companion, Rani Chopra opened up about her husband, Aditya Chopra. The actress also revealed some lesser-known anecdotes about her their marital life. Rani mentioned that even though, Aditya offers her several films, she refused if she doesn’t feel that she is the best fit. She said, “No, I am too egoistic as an actor. I am very very contented where I am. So I know that when there is a right film for me, he would definitely want to cast me but there are so many times when he thinks I am the right fit but I don’t think I am the right fit so I say no. And it’s easier to refuse him because he is my husband, he has to understand, he has to be understanding.”
Further, Rani revealed that she and Aditya understands each other’s work and respects it. The actress said that they often discuss work with each other and even give suggestions if required. Elaborating more about it, she said, “As a wife, today we are that couple, that there is a mutual respect for each other’s work. We also discuss each other’s work because we are from the same fraternity. Tomorrow, if he was in some other business, I don’t think I would have been able to contribute. There have been times, where he talks to me about his work, I talk to him about the work that I am doing.”

Rani Mukerji made her acting debut with the film, Biyer Phool, in 1996. However, it was her role of rape victim in the film, ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ in 1996, that made her an overnight sensation. Later, the actress went on to work in several hit films like, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Hichki’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Mardaani’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Veer-Zaara’ and many more.
On the work front, she was last seen in the film, ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.’
