Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan outshines the Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2’s box office collection as the former’s film earned almost double the latter’s film on Day 1.
The Hindi cinema industry seems to be experiencing its golden age once again. Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan, two of Bollywood’s biggest performers, have returned with new action-packed films. As Sunny’s Gadar 2 created a splash with moviegoers by trying to outdo Shah Rukh’s Pathaan, SRK is once again, making a splash with his return to the big screen with his film, Jawan. For those who are unaware, the Atlee-directed film outperformed Anil Sharma’s Gadar on its first day of domestic release.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Film, Jawan earns double of Sunny Deol’s film, Gadar 2 on Day 1
On its first day, on August 11, 2023, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 made 40.1 crore. Since it was released on a Friday, four days before the national holiday for Independence Day, the picture, like Jawan, had a longer opening weekend.

Meanwhile, Jawan premiered on Thursday on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. It made 65 crores in Hindi, 5 crores in Tamil, and 5 crores in Telugu after being released in those three languages. The film opened on Thursday and will remain in theatres through Sunday for its extended weekend run.
Jawan vs. Gadar 2: Box Office Collection
The daily box office collection for Gadar 2 had a boost on its first Saturday and Sunday, before seeing a decrease on Monday. This was the film’s opening weekend. On the other hand, it brought in more money in a single day than any of the weekend days before Independence Day. Within its first week of release, the movie’s worldwide gross topped 100 crore. Unless there is a significant drop on Friday, Jawan is projected to break the 100 crore threshold by the end of its second day of release. Despite this, given the high percentage of advance bookings, it is very certain that it will quadruple its receipts by the time the opening weekend arrives.
Jawan vs Gadar 2: A Cinematic Extravaganza
In the ever-evolving world of cinema, some films transcend time and remain etched in the hearts of movie enthusiasts for generations. In an effort to move the plot along, director Anil Sharma makes a few alterations to the screenplay and comes up with a tale that succeeds in some ways but drags in others.

It was in the 1993 film Darr that we last saw Shah Rukh and Sunny on screen together. The relationship between sunny and SRk began to deteriorate after the release of the picture. Even though Sunny portrayed the hero, he was upset that Yash Chopra’s script favored Shah Rukh’s antagonistic character. However, the years of dispute ended recently, when Shah Rukh Khan attended the success party of Sunny Deol’s film, Gadar 2, in Mumbai. The two were seen embracing each other and acting like nothing had happened. In addition to Sunny, Shah Rukh and his family have praised Gadar 2.
