Talking about her failed film career, Tanishaa Mukerji discloses how her brother-in-law, Ajay Devgn, attempted to save it.
Tanishaa Mukerji has been grabbing a lot of attention these days, due to her performance in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11. The diva has been winning the hearts of the audience with her swift dance moves and on-point expressions. Younger daughter of veteran actress, Tanuja and the sister of Kajol, Tanishaa, has unfortunately, not been able to mark a successful film career. And now, the diva talked about the same.

Tanishaa Mukerji talks about how Ajay Devgn, her brother-in-law, intervened to help her career
Tanishaa Mukerji discussed her film career, which steadily declined over time, in a conversation with Siddharth Kannan. She recalled a particular instance when she spoke of her brother-in-law Ajay Devgn, who helped her career while she was unemployed for two to three years. She disclosed how he intervened and hired a secretary for her to help her handle things more effectively.
“Ajay came in later. He realised, ye kya ho raha hai and then he was like, wait a minute baby, let me come in. He came after my launch and after I was out of work for about 2-3 years. It all went downhill. Then Ajay got me a secretary. At that time, there were secretaries. KS Sanjay was fixed as my secretary by Ajay. He is a lovely human being and really takes care of the family.”
Tanishaa recalls that in the early years of her career, she turned down a number of projects
Speaking more on her waning career, Tanishaa also mentioned how many film offers she had received after making her breakthrough. She labeled them as “quick films,” which she ultimately decided not to see as she didn’t find any resonance with the plots as they developed. According to her, “Those were brief movies. The cinema stories lacked depth and substance back then. When I entered the field, it was a strange moment. I regret not doing more movies. Though I didn’t connect with the subjects, it’s not like I didn’t get the offers. I felt at the time that I wasn’t a legitimate actor because I couldn’t relate to the roles.

Tanishaa once said that she isn’t a star, in contrast to her sister Kajol
Tanishaa had previously won a ton of applause from the judges for her powerful performance in an episode of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11. Farah Khan, one of the show’s judges, was impressed with her performance and said the former was a star. Tanishaa, however, became upset upon hearing the remark and declared that she isn’t a celebrity, in contrast to her sister Kajol and her brother-in-law Ajay Devgn.

In a previous interview with Bollywood Hungama, Tanishaa Mukerji discussed her experiences in the entertainment industry and the reasons behind her lack of success as her sister Kajol or mother Tanuja. She stated, “You have to have a strong sense of self. You have to have a strong sense of who you are and that person who will come out on screen. Those are the people who will actually make it, those who have a strong sense of self. Maybe I didn’t make it because I didn’t have that.”
