Important Points About taylor Swift’s Concert
- Ticket sales for Taylor Swift‘s Era Tour concert film have already broken records in less than 24 hours on the market. For online ticket seller Fandango
- The singer’s film ranks in the top ten all-time best first-day pre-sellers.
- Swift’s film also smashed AMC ticket sales records, topping the highest single-day ticket sales record for a single film.
According to Fandango, the singer’s film is in the top ten all-time highest first-day pre-sellers, alongside “Avengers: Endgame,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.””By bringing Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert film to the big screen, Taylor Swift is giving moviegoers and the entire industry the ultimate gift,” said Jerramy Hainline, senior vice president of Fandango Ticketing.
AMC Entertainment claimed that ticket sales for Swift’s film hit $26 million on Thursday, setting a new record for the century-old firm. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” previously held the record for most single-day ticket sales with $16.9 million.IMAX has already sold out over 250 screenings and is out of stock on presales. According to CNBC, the company is receiving the same percentage of presales as it would for a major tentpole film.
“Instead of launching an event via streaming, it’s being launched directly through the theatrical window,” IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond said on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” on Friday. “It confirms what most studios have been saying… that a theatrical release enhances the value of later windows like streaming.””While it’s fantastic,” he says, “I don’t think there will be a lot of cookie cutters because there is only one Taylor Swift.”
Swift’s concert DVD chronicles her enormously successful tour, which grossed millions and was on its way to a record-breaking $1 billion in sales earlier this summer. It displaced Universal’s “Exorcist: Believer,” which set a week earlier release date only hours after word of the pop star’s death surfaced.
The film was originally intended for just the country’s top theater chains, such as AMC, Regal, and Cinemark, but smaller theater chains eagerly sought admission to the picture, which is scheduled to run through November 5. Most domestic theater chains had showtimes available by the end of Thursday.
In response to increased demand, AMC, the world’s largest movie theater company, has introduced extra domestic showtimes: The nearly three-hour picture, which opens in theaters on October 13, will have at least four showtimes each day at AMC theaters on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until early November.
According to cinema chains, the majority of Thursday ticket sales were for showings during the concert film’s debut weekend. Analysts predict that Swift’s Eras Tour will gross more than $100 million in its first year. The release of the picture occurs at a time when Hollywood is dealing with dual labor disputes and the departure of studios such as Warner Bros and “Dune: Part II” from Legendary Entertainment’s 2023 picture schedule.
